Hello, lovers of good cinema!
The Movie Club of IISER Kolkata is thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for all movie enthusiasts with some free time this summer – the Summer Movie Review Writing Contest! 📽️
Do you love watching movies and sharing your thoughts about them? Do you have a flair for writing and a passion for cinema? Do you overthink your ratings on Letterboxd? Or do you love a good movie and have never written a review? If yes, then this contest is tailor-made for you!
Contest Details:
- Theme: Write a review of any movie of your choice - anything at all!
- Word Limit: We don’t have any - but please don’t write a novel or something!
- Submission Deadline: The contest will remain open till 25th July.
- Language: English only, please.
Prizes:
- Grand Prize: The winner will get the unique opportunity to screen a movie of their choice on the big screen for a day! 🌟
- Goodies & Trophies: The winner will receive a trophy, and the top three reviews will receive exclusive goodies as a token of appreciation for their outstanding contribution. 🏆
How to Participate:
- Write your movie review following the guidelines mentioned. You are welcome to embellish the review with pictures and/or art.
- Submit your review via our content submission Google form - here. Please do not forget to mention in the additional comments section that your entry is meant for the contest.
- Multiple entries are allowed, and encouraged!
Evaluation Criteria:
- Originality and creativity
- Insightfulness and depth of analysis
- Clarity and coherence
- Grammar and writing style
We can’t wait to read your insightful reviews and witness the cinematic magic through your words. Whether it’s a timeless classic or a contemporary blockbuster, your unique perspective can shine the spotlight on it. As the cherry on top - all reviews submitted that meet our (not very strict) standards will be published on the Movie Club Website!
Remember that the contest is going to be open till 25th July 2024 - so if you’ve been waiting to see that movie that your friends have been telling you about, go watch it and write a review!
